HMS Industrial Networks has released 19 new EtherCAT gateways. The new X-gateways are convenient links that allow EtherCat-connected devices to communicate with other fieldbuses or industrial Ethernet, and vice versa.

The new EtherCAT gateway family includes all versions of the popular fieldbus, Such AS Profibus, DeviceNet, CANopen, Modbus, Interbus, CC-Link, ControlNet, AS-Interface and industrial EtherNet protocols Profinet, EtherNet/IP and Modbus-TCP. Typical applications are installations using a mix of Beckhoff and Siemens, Rockwell, or Schneider PLCs, such as an automotive plant, where fieldbus-based parts are integrated into new parts based on EtherCAT.

X-gateways are compact devices for standard DIN rail mounting and 24 volt industrial power supplies. They are based on the mature Anybus communication module. These modules are embedded in a small metal housing, forming an intelligent link between the two industrial networks. On the EtherCAT side, they always act as slaves.
